I am not saying I am stressed. Yes, the fact that Dhinkchak Poojas songs were taken off the internet did bother me but overall, I am okay. This was what I thought. At Tattva spa, my therapist had to warn me that I had too many knots in my shoulder and that my shoulder would potentially be swollen. So that things falling out of your window is my theory.

On a particularly rainy Friday, I made my way to the Holiday Inn at Saki Naka to explore Tattva Spa. Here’s my experience and review.

The Space

The spa is located in the hotel on the 7th floor next to the gym and pool areas. As you enter, there’s a reception and a place for you to park your bottom where they bring you the menu. The spa menu. Keep up guys. Tattva Spa has a few other locations and at this one, they have 3 therapy rooms and one room for Ayurvedic massages featuring cool contraptions that have always scared me a little bit. The place is well lit, something I really appreciate because most spas are so dimly lit you’ve grope your way to your therapy room.

The Experience

I was invited for this review. However, I do think their services are pretty top notch. They called me, I was put in touch with the spa manager and everything was ready for my arrival and if this translates to their regular patrons, they’ve got a winner on their hands. I am impressed. Also, I was given four options of oils for my massage which I smelled constantly and made no decision. How they had any patience for me is beyond me.

The Service

The service started with my really sweet therapist, Angolu, asking to change into disposable underwear and what I am going to call a boob tube. Once we started, she washed my feet in a copper vessel and we moved to the massage table. There, she confirmed if the pressure, the music and the temperature in the room were okay which was really sweet because I often tend to end up freezing myself on the table. Angolu was fantastic. I had mentioned in my card that my shoulders were the problem area and she was great at undoing my knots. The 90 minute therapy they had recommended to me had a mix of stretching and massage so it was like getting a workout as well.Kidding, that’s what I tell myself. I had also asked for the Gentle Eye Reliever Therapy which I think was magical because I was in heaven. About 2 hours later, some steam and fragrant green tea later, I was refreshed and ready to take on the monsoons of Mumbai. Okay, nobody is ready for that. If you are looking for a massage that doesn’t break the bank with all the frills, I would recommend Tattva Spa strongly.

That’s a wrap
