Now, before we go anywhere, let me tell you, this woman is a total rockstar and I have been following her on Instagram for, well, just about forever. Innisfree is a Korean makeup brand that I was first introduced to when I made a trip to Delhi. The brand then came to Mumbai but since I found their skincare a little heavy for my face, I hadn’t made too many purchases from them. So the brand also has makeup which I knew but I kind of ignored. Their nail paints did look really interesting though. Anyway, I loved the masterclass with Namrat Soni. She gave us some really cool insider tips and tricks which, because I am an amazing person, I will share with you here. Do up your eyebrows When we are in a rush, we can be a little dismissive of eyebrows and will slap on some lipstick and be on our way. Namrata explained that big, bushy eyebrows …

5 fitness tips from Sucheta Pal, Zumba Education Specialist

Over this weekend, well, technically only 6th of December, Phoenix Market City in Kurla had #FitFest going on. They had healthy eating workshops, Zumba classes, self defence classes and much more lined up. It was a terribly managed event with no visible signage of this going on, no timelines being met (The Zumba class that was supposed to start at 5:30pm started at 6:15) and no one really there to tell you what was going on. The word fest has been used very broadly in this context. There were a stalls here. The Aromathai Day Spa people gave up on trying to get clients and packed up by about 6pm. The other places like a brand selling active wear from Brazil looked deserted and no one seemed to be buying anything. Anyway, in all this, I managed to speak to Sucheta Pal who is a Zumba Education Specialist and Master Trainer for India. Which means that she’s the one who trains all the trainers who teach you Zumba. Here are her 5 tips to keeping …

Everyone is scared of something. Some find cockroaches petrifying (me), some people can’t function in darkness. Some people won’t even sit in the same room when everyone’s exchanging ghost stories. And then there’s one thing everyone’s mortified of. *Obligatory joke about wife*. No, it’s the weighing scale. Stepping on the scale can cause major heartburn. And if you are on a weight loss plan, it’s worse. You get anxiety attacks from just thinking about what the scale will say. What if I told you that there are ways to measure if you are on the right track to weight loss without a scale? What if you just threw the scale out of the equation? Here’s how you can tell you are doing well and getting closer to your goals. 1. Your clothes fit better Have a freshly laundered pair of jeans? Put that on. If it fits easier, better or even if you are finally able to close the button, you’ve done well. Try sitting down in it. If it slides down further than before …
