Store Review: Decathlon, Mumbai

So before I headed out for my cycling trip in the Himalayas, I made my way to the Decathlon store in Mumbai. Now, let me tell you this. If you are a sports enthusiast of any sort, you are going to be walking out with almost an empty wallet. I mean, this place has everything an adventure or sports junkie would need and then stuff you don’t need but want to buy anyway. It’s like the Sephora of the beauty world. The only bummer? It’s located in some godforsaken part of Thane. Let’s get into the store review, shall we? The Area It’s in some far off corner of Thane where no one goes. Sometimes people go there but I bet their phone is on roaming. No really, it’s too far. But a trip to this place is well worth your time.  Because it is tucked away in a corner, its visibility is practically zero which should affect sales, or so I thought. I was there on a sweltering summer day in the middle of …

#Firstlook and Store Walk Through: Sephora, Mumbai

Sephora has come to Mumbai. This is such a happy time for a makeup junkie like me. So i went over to High Street Phoenix aka Palladium to check the store out. The store launched on 30th January and I wasn’t in town (My brother was getting engaged) and I couldn’t check it out when media was invited. Not that I got an invite but I would have wriggled my way through, for sure. Anyway, this black and white makeup haven is on the 2nd floor and you can spot it from a mile away, mainly because its white is , well, very white and bright. I literally ran up to the store (if you saw anyone whizzing past you on the escalator at Phoenix today, it was probably me) and then decided to be smart and ask the store manager- Hina- if I could take a few pictures and do a store walk-through. She said that they couldn’t allow me to take pictures and that picture-taking was only open for the day of the …

Zivame vs Pretty Secrets: Review and Comparison

If you are a woman who is of post-puberty age and are on Facebook, Zivame is looking for you. And it is going to find you, shoot incessant ads at you till you give in and buy a bloody bra. Or a panty. I finally did go and decide to buy something from the website. But since I am a blogger (of repute , of course), I also decided to do a review and a comparison with Pretty Secrets – another lingerie website. Right off the bat, let me tell you that Zivame doesn’t have any of its own brands, it stocks other brands like Enamor, Triumph etc. Pretty Secrets only has its own products. Since I am well endowed, any lingerie store in India – online or offline- won’t stock my size. Hence, I bought panties. The review and comparison will do an overview of the collection, the prices, the delivery and more. Yes, I am pretty comprehensive like that. Home Page   As is obvious, Pretty Secrets uses plenty of colour and firing models, …

Store Review: Spa Ceylon

Yes, I know what you are thinking. Why would you review a store? Well because there is a lot more to the store than just it’s physical location and the products stacked everywhere. It’s an experience for the consumer. So, what should you expect besides cute salesmen (Zara does this right) and a functioning system for billing? Oh, lots more. Take a look at how Spa Ceylon measures up. The Area Spa Ceylon has been careful with its choice of locations. Each location is in a premium area – its outlet in Bandra is right at the beginning of Linking Road and the one in R City is an area that receives a lot of footfall thanks it being opposite a popular eatery. The area is important for visibility. I also strongly believe it lends it an air of credibility. Spa Ceylon gets it right on this front. The Space Spa Ceylon outlets are spacious and each area is marked clearly. The centre of the outlet features islands that hold soaps, gift boxes and a …
