Powerhouse Gym, Juhu : Walkthrough and Tour

The gym and I are not very good friends. We mostly avoid each other and when we meet, rather occasionally, we chat quickly and then get moving. So when I was recently invited by the Powerhouse Gym in Juhu for a tour and trial, I was reluctant because it would mean getting off my bum. Don’t misunderstand me, it’s not the gym. It’s exercising in the gym that puts me off. Like the treadmill. You are moving but you are not getting anywhere. Plus, staring at a wall? Not fun. Anyway, I headed over to Powerhouse Gym in Juhu and was hoping they would surprise me. And they did. Thank god. So allow me to give you a quick walkthrough around the gym. I must tell you this, they have lots of treadmills. Like plenty of them. Which is great because you don’t have to creepily walk up to the people running and sweating profusely and ask them when they’ll get off. The best bit? These treadmills face a window. So there’s a view. *high …

Launch: Beyu Cosmetics Comes to India

I think Germany is a really, really interesting country. Because, first of all, they’ve the BMW which is only the best car ever. But they also have a lot of beer which is really why you should like any country. But if you are going to be really particular, Germany in my head stands for quality. The products that usually come out of there are top notch. So, after spending several minutes trying to pronounce the name of the brand, I decided I would avoid using it altogether, the name, that is. If you are wondering, it’s pronounced Be You, like be yourself. Cute only. So this Thursday, I learned with a bunch of other bloggers that Beyu Cosmetics, a German brand is coming to India. And it will be in stores in April. Obviously, this thrills makeup lovers because it means we have another brand to choose from. By the way, it’s going to be in the drugstore category so we don’t have to be broke while we buy makeup, which I buy too …

Hotel Review: Vivanta By Taj, Cuffe Parade

So over this weekend, we hit the luxurious Vivanta By Taj for a staycation with the girls. Which was amazing. We had so much fun. I also learnt, over this weekend, that day drinking is amazing. Shopping after day drinking is even more fun. It involves a couple of very confusing purchases and a lot of maintaining of balance but nothing you can’t handle. We 4 ladies headed to Taj pretty early, their check in is at 2pm but we couldn’t wait to get this party started. Now, I had called the previous day, Friday to confirm my early check in (I had asked for between 10am and 11am) and also if they could do something for my friend who is getting married. They said they could do something with flowers and a cake. I was really excited. I had spoken to Deval who was headed for a vacation but I was sure the Taj would have a way they communicate such requests internally. Now, let’s get right to the review. Arrival We had mentioned …

Product Review: Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

There’s a point in my life where I have everything except a scrub. I have too many products at all times but I always think I could use something more. You should know that I do not need anything more. I just think I should get it. So I went hunting for a good scrub. A scrub that would leave me glowing and gorgeous and with the skin of a 16 year old. And I chanced upon the Dermalogica Daily Mircofoliant. Here’s a review. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Feel: Well, well, well. What do you know. First of all, this product will throw you right off because it’s not a scrub in the traditional sense. It’s a powder. It looks like something you could shoot up your nose but you shouldn’t unless you want squeaky clean nostrils and why do you want that? Anyway, this is a powder and it’s white. Trump would be happy. Fragrance: It doesn’t smell like anything. Even mildly. Great for people with sensitive noses. Price: Rs. 975  for 13 grams Buy it …

Product Review: Bed Head Tigi Re-Energize Treatment Mask

Wow, I have been away from the writing bit for a while now. Just been talking a lot on my Youtube channel. Whattey subtle plug! Here it is, in case you want to hop over and subscribe. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6DMSOeu1dcO8H3bSfwA9Zw So, I do like Bed Head Tigi products a lot. And not only because you can read their label while on the pot. It’s really interesting. No, really. But because I genuinely like how they work. So when the PR people offered to send me some products, I was like, hell yeah. Now, I have already used the shampoos from Bed Head- The Urban Anti-Dote shampoo and conditioner (LOVE!) and The Colour Goddess (LOVE! but it hasn’t got a review on the blog)- and I was expecting a lot from this one. Now, even before I got this one, I bought the Small Talk and I didn’t love it. I was quite disappointed because it comes with a heavy price tag. One kidney has been sold already. Anyway, so I spent a couple of weeks with this product …

Product Review: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

So the Fit Me! series has been a in drugstore hauls of various beauty bloggers around the world and for the most part, it has got glowing reviews. So when the Fit Me! range came to India, I really wanted to give it a whirl. I did go around shopping a couple of times but didn’t have the time to try the product and get my shade. Anyhoo, I made time for it this Saturday and got around to the Maybelline counter at Shoppers Stop. Before I review the product, can I please briefly rant about the women at the counters? Most of these women are rude and uninterested and almost always annoyingly pushy. When you ask to see a product, some seem so uninterested, it makes you not want to buy from that brand- which sucks because these are the people who could really sway you. Also, some of them are really unhygienic- smelly, unclean nails- and that’s not saying good things about the brand. Phew. *rant over* So, the Maybelline Fit Me range has …

Product Review: Innisfree Best Loved Collection

Korean beauty and skincare is a real thing. It’s what bloggers around the world swear by (well, some anyway) and anything the Koreans do becomes an instant hit. Even if it is makeup for hooded eyes which most of the others aren’t lucky enough to have. Aren’t they the cutest? Anyway, Innisfree is a brand from Korea which is only 6 years old and is known for being natural and environment-friendly. They put their heart and Seoul into that philosophy. Yes, I put that entire sentence in only for that pun. Moving on. You know I was in Delhi right? So I was just going around the Galleria Market in Gurgaon and they had an Innisfree store right there. And because it was right there, I had to walk in. And I ended up buying two face masks which I am still to use. But. I did get samples of their ‘Best Loved Collection’  for becoming a member. So I used those and here’s a review.   Innisfree Orchid Enriched cream Feel: This anti-aging (a claim …
