You know that Damsel In Destress is a whole new place now, right? I mean, of course you know. You are a loyal reader. No? Or maybe you stumbled upon my blog because you like my stellar content and now you are hooked. Either way, my whole website has been revamped and I needed new visiting cards to go with it. And I turned to Vistaprint because it sounded like I just had to snap my fingers and Vistaprint would print my visiting cards out and send them over. Maybe even give them out to people and help me with leads.

Design

Vistaprint

Anyway. I had my entire design ready and had to simply upload it on the Vistaprint website and things would get going, right? Turns out not. Now the website itself has a very basic, cluttered interface with too many options which could be really overwhelming for a first timer. And also ugly to the eyes. I thought choosing by paper quality would be easier. It wasn’t. I only knew I wanted matte and that’s what I went with. Otherwise, there’s lots of pricing and paper options, the process of which could be made easier if you went in the offline world and had feel of it.

Vistaprint

Now, if you don’t have a design ready, you could pick some of the standard designs Vistaprint has in their own portfolio which could help you out. You can sort them out of your industry so that’s pretty helpful as well. If budgets are low or if you don’t find a designer you can afford immediately, this is great.

Vistaprint

The only thing here is the interface of the designing are is quite basic and very difficult to manoeuvre. I had an ai file from my designer and I had to call them up to get things going. You do have basic guidelines but on the whole it’s pretty clunky to work with. Once done, you can add the quantity and paper quality and check out.

VistaprintI must, must mention Wasim from Vistaprint here who was amazingly patient throughout the time that I was struggling with my design file. Wasim for PM!

Delivery

Vistaprint

Once you place the order, which I did while Wasim was still on the phone, you are told it will take 5-10 working days to deliver this order. I got my Vistaprint order in 3 days. The packaging was clean and sharp and the delivery was on time. I am impressed. Would definitely recommend Vistaprint to anyone looking to get their visiting cards printed. I am not sure about the other services because I haven’t checked them out yet.

{ quick take}

Vistaprint is great for printing your visiting cards even if the designing area is a little clunky and uneven. Contact them and they are real helpful
