I have been a fan of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams for a while now. When I say a fan, it basically means that I have been hoarding them and have a lot of them. Some of them I am on my second tube and some I have scooped so deeply, I am afraid my applicator will come out of the other side. You know the other side- the one where Adele is. That was a terrible joke.
So, anyway, Lakme introduced a new line of matte mousse lip and cheek colours and it’s very, very, in fact suspiciously similar to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I am not going to justify my saying it’s suspicious and just leave it there for you to think over and wonder. Leave it, it’s nothing. So I bought a two shades from the Lakme range- Coffee Lite and Tangerine Fluff- and here’s my review.
Lakme 9 t 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip and Cheek Colour
Feel: It comes in a tube that gives up nothing. So if you want to see the colour, you’ll have to look inside, pull out the applicator and that’s how you will know. Feel wise, it’s moussy, it’s extremely light-weight and really easy to apply. Goes matte really quickly on the lip as well. But, and this is a big but (like mine, ahaha, okay, Ill stop) on the cheeks, it dries rather quickly and isn’t as easy to apply.
Fragrance: It’s sweet and while the smell disappears quite quickly, I haven’t taken a liking to it.
Price: Rs. 575 for 9gm .
Buy it at: All Lakme counters. TBH, a lot of them are out of stock.
Verdict: I do like the product and it’s a greatly handy coz it doubles up for the lips and cheeks. It doesn’t last too long, 3-4 hours but that’s okay. I haven’t met a matte liquid lipstick that stays put all day. It does dry out the lips but not like crazy.
