#OwnThose5Days Blogger Meet with Whisper

So you know I received the Whisper sample right? And I did a review here (link to product review). Well, this was followed up with a bloggers meet that took place in St. Regis, Mumbai. Yes, super fancy place. They said the event would start at 11, so I was there by 11:05. I registered and was given a band with a number on it. Then, a wait that lasted almost 1 hour started. I spent this hour walking around the place, talking to other bloggers (siltently judging them. As if you don’t do it) and basically visiting the bathroom and using a lot of the hand lotion because it smelled very nice. An hour later we were ushered into a room with a massive setup with massive signs everywhere displaying Whisper and encouraging us to #OwnThose5Days. Of course, those 5 days that are being talking about here are the 5 days of periods.   It was still some time before the event would begin. But they put lovely strawberry mentos on the table and …

Product Review: New Whisper Ultra Clean

Periods are frustrating, annoying and painful. Much like some people. Over the years, we have heard plenty of crazy things about them. Like how you shouldn’t enter the kitchen, touch the pickle and whatnot. Anyway, the point is we don’t need all this hogwash. The entire 4-5 days are irritating enough without having people tell you what you can do and cannot do. I don’t listen to them when I have my periods so I don’t know why I should listen now. And any woman will tell you that having to carefully select a sanitary napkin isn’t exactly fun. I mean, wouldn’t you rather just have on trusty brand you would turn to in times when it’s a bloody battle? (I love puns!). Yeah, and my go to brand has always been Whisper. I have tried other brands but with bunching and staining, I have invariably turned to this brand again. By the way, do you also have a bunch of sanitary napkin types in your stash? I use pantyliners when I start, then the …

PVR Cinemas App Review + PVR Cinemas, Kurla Review

I am going to admit it. Sometimes, if I know the movie is going to be crap, I only go for the popcorn. And sometimes, even when the movie is good, I basically go because I want popcorn. I also love watching movies in a cinema. There’s just a different charm to it. Even if it’s not big screen friendly. Don’t you feel like everyone is in on this one single experience and that’s pretty cool, right? No. Oh okay. Yeah, I am not very deep myself. Anyway, so I am going to review the PVR Cinema app and the cinema itself. I am doing this review because I love reviews and secondly it gives you an idea of where you should go watch a movie if you want clean seats, decent popcorn and a great deal on both. PVR Cinemas App Review I downloaded the PVR Cinemas App because I thought the BookMyShow app was charging me a huge convenience fee. I mean, I end up paying a tickets’ worth of extra money when …

Hair & Nail Service Review: Freeda Beauty Salon, Bandra

Everyone who’s been in Bandra long enough knows about Freeda. It’s supposed to be one of those places that has acquired cult status. Like people visit it every month or so like a pilgrimage spot but for beauty needs. Can I already tell you this now? I have no idea why. I have noticed that salons now have their employees sitting outside when they have no client to service. I find this quite silly and unwelcoming. But with Freeda, I am going to excuse this. Purely because they have way too many employees. There are employees everywhere. And their uniform is red and black, so basically it just looks like many Coke bottles are walking around. Anyway, on to the review. The Space I haven’t gone to the previous Freeda but this one is obviously new. A lot of things are still to be set up and the place looks like it is in a bit of a disarray. No idea if things are like this generally. It’s located somewhere on Pali Hill (I can …

Fitness Foods: Haul and Review

Over the weekend, I made my way to the Tangerine Arts Studio where an event called Fitness Finds was taking place. It seemed like a super interesting proposition- healthy food and health-related stuff all in one place. With Facebook starting this new thing where if you show you are interested in an event – it will bombard you with all things related to the event- I knew the brands that were going to be there and that sounded like I should be there. First of all, Tangerine Arts Studio is tiny. By tiny, I mean, teeny weeny. Not that that changes anything, just thought you should know. I bought one of almost everything. Except the clothing items and the fruits juices (apparently you shouldnt drink your fruit). So here’s what I bought and a review of each. Product Review: Gouri’s Stuff/Food (!?! Not sure what the name is) Verdict: This bar made of palm jaggery was consumed quite quickly because I was hungry. It’s a little chewy but yummy. And at Rs. 50 ¬†for this …

5 Fabulous Diet Hacks From Top Nutritionists

So, the end of the year, family coming over from abroad and plenty of binge drinking sessions have wreaked havoc with my weight. I have put on 3 kgs. And this I have to lose by 29th Jan when my brother is getting engaged. Yes, I have already started working on it. I am obviously carefully considering what I am putting into my mouth. And of course working out like crazy. When I am really dedicated to looking fit, like in this case, I turn to my trusty books written by top nutritionists in the country. And it is from these that I am sharing the secrets of today. Tip 1: Pooja Makhija asks to make friendships with food. Pooja Makhija in her book Eat. Delete explains that you should treat food the way to you treat friends. No that doesn’t mean you declare love for them when drunk and take endless selfies. It means that you categorize your food into best friends, good friends and acquaintances. Best friends, you can have everyday- rice, roti, bananas, …

Product Review:Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in Dream Pink

Yes, I must be lazy. This is my first post of 2016! I feel like I have been ignoring my blog and that’s not a good feeling. Anyway, I am back. With reviews and well, some more reviews. My year started on a good note and I hope yours did too. A few months ago, a friend of mine (we should really become best friends after a gift like this) gifted me an Estee Lauder Gift Pack which had two nail shades and one lipstick. Now, I obviously swooned over owning an Estee Lauder product that I hadn’t paid for. Yes, I am easily excited like that. And that’s how I have this lipstick. I’ll admit, I didn’t get around to trying this early on because I had few trusty lip shades that look just so good on me that experimenting is just that, an experiment. I did get around to trying this one though, and here’s how it fared. Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in Dream Pink Feel:¬†These guys have been making makeup gurus …
