Product Review: Elf Lip Exfoliator

So remember my Youtube Inspired Beauty Haul? Erm, it’s that link.

Anyway, so the Elf Lip Exfoliator was a part of that beauty haul and I was super excited to try it because it looks like a lipstick but is a scrub. And it just looks like such a fun product to use. Plus, there are times when I get super dry lips with plenty of dead skin and I thought this was the answer to all that. So, here’s the review:

Elf Lip Exfoliator

Feel: Okay, the first thing – this is a super, super gentle scrub. I mean, I know you don’t want to slough off the dead skin and some skin of your lips but this one is just barely scrub-y. The first time I tried it, I barely felt the granules doing anything. I decided to give it a second go and it’s still a bit too gentle for my liking.

Fragrance: It smells like vanilla and sugar. Basically, sweet.

Price: Rs.1200 – 1600 for a tube. But it retails for 3 dollars on the Elf’s website. Ask someone from the US to get it for you.

Taste: It tastes sweet. Quite pleasant actually.

Usage: It asks you to dampen your lips and then use the product. After that, you are supposed to clean it off with a moistened cotton pad. I put some water on my lips and used the exfoliator and then simply washed it, because patience ran out.

Verdict:I really wanted to like this product. I mean this was my introduction to the world of ELF, a brand that quite frankly, is promising. But I don’t. It does do the basic job decently enough – scrub ( Check picture above). However, and maybe this is just me, I would have liked a more vigorous, more intense scrub. There’s an Indian company that has a chocolate lip scrub (I can’t remember the brand right now) that came in a pot and I loved that one. This one is a miss.
