6 Questions Every Indian Bride Should Ask Her Makeup Artist

Everyone will have you believe that if you are a girl, you spend a good part of your childhood planning your wedding. Some people do and some people don’t.Whatever the case is, I must admit that being a bride is fun. You get to buy new clothes, jewellery and stuff you don’t need and will never use because , well, you are the bride. But being a bride also comes with a lot of stress. And it can get overwhelming. Looking perfect for the pictures is probably one of the things the bride is most worried about. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Now, I have attended plenty of weddings and here are a few things that I think an Indian bride should ask her makeup artist. And these aren’t the usual ones but stuff that happens in real life and somethings you probably haven’t accounted for. 1.Is he/she going to be doing your makeup? You book a makeup artist and if it’s someone of repute, you think you are sorted, right? Wrong. There …

Product Review: Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater

I love smell of roses. It wasn’t always like this. But then I discovered Chloe  (perfume) and it’s kind of the most epic fragrance out there. And it’s the one that made me fall in love. With roses. Anyway, basically my entire perfuming routine involves products that have this fragrance. As it happens,  I was walking past the Kama Ayurveda store the other day and I popped in (because who walks past beauty products like that? They have feelings) and kind of walked around the store. I didn’t love anything but I was looking to replace my current toner (a crappy Sephora one which gave me tiny bumps) and thought I would buy the rosewater which is supposed to be a natural toner. So I bought the Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater. Here’s the review. Kama Ayurveda Pure Rosewater Feel: It feels like mist which is how this product should feel, technically atlas. Two pumps should cover your entire face. But, yes there is a but, there waay too much water or something with it, so …

Service Review: MINK Laundry

I like my stuff clean. Like bedsheets, cupboards and stuff. And underwear, of course. Who likes underwear dirty anyway? Point being, I like them clean but my effort towards cleaning it? Hmm. I am okay to load my washing machine and put some detergent in but beyond that, I can’t claim much. Like the last time when I went to give my Indian fancy clothes for dry cleaning, I completely forgot about them till about 2 weeks after. I obviously ran to them huffing and puffing hoping they hadn’t sold them on OLX or something. With Diwali around the corner, we did have a bunch of things we needed cleaned but by the time the people at MINK Laundry got in touch with me, most of it was done. But I did manage to save two curtains from being cleaned- which is probably not a good thing on an average day- and decided to hand them over to the good people at MINK. The Service I was speaking to a person from the MINK team …

Hair Product Review: Bed Head TIGI Epic Volume Conditioner

You know what the real problem is? That we get hair where we don’t want it and not where we actually want it. That’s just so deep of me. So remember that haircut I got from Mad O Wat? Yeah, well, I have finally outgrown it and I like what my hair is doing now. To give it some more loving, I am going all out. You remember that I loved the Bed Head TIGI Urban Anti-dotes range, Re-energize Shampoo and that I was kind of going cray cray about how good it is? Anyway, so I went and bought it all over again (Yes, I did love it that much) and because I am such a fan of experimenting, I got the Bed Head TIGI Epic Volume Conditioner as well. If your hair is anything like mine- you wash it today and tomorrow it’s a limp mop – you know that your hair needs some lift and bounce and I thought it would do just that. So, here’s the review. Bed Head TIGI Epic Volume Conditioner …

Product Review: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Let me tell you this. Blogging may seem like a lot of fun and all that but it involves being broke a lot of the time. So, recently when I managed to get a little money in the bank (I did a lot of freelancing), I made my first luxurious purchase.  And I am so glad I picked this one- the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. You know I am a sucker for good-smelling products, right? Yes, so I am. So obviously, I go around sniffing products before I make a purchase. I also check a lot of reviews. And this one came with mixed reviews. But then, it was also all natural , so, you know. How do you even resist that? I mean, if at some point I am asked to throw some leaves on my face, I might be the first one to volunteer for these things. Anyway, here’s my review. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Feel: This is a serum or a face oil but doesn’t feel too heavy to apply. Once you …

Play Review: The Siddhus of Upper Juhu

So over the the weekend, I made my way to NCPA to watch the play ‘The Siddhus of Upper Juhu. Now, I have been wanting to watch this play for a while now but somehow haven’t gotten around to doing it. Anyway, I did this time. I booked the tickets through bookmyshow. The Place   NCPA is at Nariman Point which is a fabulous place. Parking can be a bit of an issue and the place gets crowded pretty quick so getting here early is recommended. Anyway, the theatre itself is pretty huge. The seats are divided into 5 rows from A to E. The rows A and E are at the extreme ends and are possibly the worst ones to pick. By the way, there’s pretty much no network inside, so phones are kind of useless which for a play, is a fabulous thing. The Play Right off the bat, let me tell you the play was refreshingly different. The play is about Bubbles (Rajit Kapoor) and Behroz (Shernaz Patel) who live in a …
