Calories in Junk Food and How Long You Need to Workout To Burn it Off

So we have been talking about being healthy on this blog for a while. And you know that I am not of the opinion that you should completely stop being indulgent. I love myself an occasional slice of pizza or a burger. And sometimes, people put cupcakes in front of me. I don’t want to have the cupcake. But it looks so sorry, sitting there all pretty begging me to have it. I only have it to put it out of its misery. But then one day, I dug out the work I would have to do to work that one cupcake off. And the results were not good, let me tell you. So I decided to do all the junk we have and the amount we would have to workout to burn those calorie. Not fun. McDonalds McVeggie Burger without Cheese The burger even without the cheese adds a whopping 360 calories to your count. Add fries and a drink and we are easily looking at more than 500 calories in just one meal. …

Damsel In Destress clocks in at 23!

You know that overwhelming feeling of love? Like when you see someone you love? Or when you spot a cupcake? Yeah, I am feeling like that today. So, Aditi got in touch with me and said that she was doing an infographic on the top 50 beauty blogs in India and that she would like to include me. Obviously, I was over the moon and also thought, I have arrived. The fact that she asked me if I would mention this on my blog is probably a tiny glitch but hey! this counts for something, right? Anyway, I made it at 23.  Maybe because there are only 50 beauty blogs in India. Some prominent ones didn’t make it so I am pretty sure there’s some sort of give take here but I wanted you guys (you are super, by the way) to know. So here it is. Check out the other ones as well, some of them are pretty cool.

5 Makeup Mistakes Indian Women Make and How to Fix them

Makeup is fun. It’s a lot of fun. You and your girlfriends can get together and go all colourful together. And sometimes, of course, we all paint our gfs in hideous shades because that’s fun. Atleast for us. This is usually in the teenage years. But sometimes people don’t grow up at all. They get stuck in the teenage phase and makeup with them becomes all about going all out colour. And we Indian women have that problem a lot. Here are 5 makeup mistakes Indian women tend to make and what you can do to fix them. Not the right colour We , as a nation, are obsessed with being and looking fair. And if this comes at the price of looking like a Geisha, most are a-okay with it. But that’s a makeup mistake that makes you look older and like you don’t know your makeup. Some fairness creams leave a whitish tinge behind and this can look super bad. Also, picking a lighter foundation to look fairer is kind of the biggest …

HolaChef App Review + Food Quality Review

The other day I was sitting around and thinking about world peace and other important things. Haha. Not really. I was basically spread out on the couch thinking, I want really good food for lunch. Then, I was like, but I am going to be heathy and order salad. Of course, that plan went downhill pretty quickly. So then I settled for a yum lunch the next day. And I downloaded HolaChef – the app. And here’s how that went. v HolaChef asks for your pincode as soon as you log in. This is because (I assume) they give you food that is made by chefs in your area. You can book a meal for the same day or for the next. You get discount for booking it earlier to I grabbed that opportunity quite quickly. You can choose which meal – lunch, dinner or flavours (because other meals come without flavours) but the times are clearly mentioned. There’s a lot of variety available. You can choose from set meals – parathas and curries, rice …

Hair Service Review (Men) : Toni & Guy, Bandra

Blogger life is fun, mostly for me. Sometimes, my friends get to experience fun things – like a sport or a workshop. And then sometimes, I drag them kicking and screaming to salons to get waxed, manicured or for a haircut. A friend of mine in possession of thick locks was showing off a rather full head. He may have not wanted a haircut, or he may have but I decided it was time he got one. Because at this age, what are you doing with so much hair and also, I needed to do a review. I called Toni and Guy in Bandra and said booked an appointment. When I got there, I was really hungry. But, and this is a major downer, there were no chaat waalas around that area. What kind of classy place is this? Really. I settled for some crap chips or something. Anyway, hunger marginally satiated, we made our way to the Toni and Guy salon which is next to the Toni and Guy Academy. The Space The space …

Make Indian Street food Healthy with These Tips to Lose Weight

I am not saying I am fat. But if I say I am a little plump, it’s because of my sev puri wala. He’s generous with the chutney, generous with the sev, and therefore contributes generously to my weight. I mean, I can resist French fries. After the 4th fry, I can attempt to stop. I can even resist a chocolaty treat (yeah, I am the kind of prefers creamy, fruit desserts), and stay on my good eating habits. But it’s the walk down a street that really challenges me. I see a sev puri wala or a sandwich guy and I am so tempted, it’s difficult for me to think straight. If you, like me, dream of marrying the pani puri seller in the hopes of having pani puris all day long and having little pani puri babies, don’t worry. I am like you. And I am also trying to lose weight. So here are the little changes I made to eating street food that ensure I can enjoy an occasional treat without ruining …

Nail Service Review: Saks Hair and Beauty, Bandra

Guys, my feet are starting to look like they belong to someone else. Possibly, an ogre. I had this ugly whitish skin along the heel, due to lack of moisturization but really, not cool. And also my nails were growing in different directions and basically doing their own thing. I also have a friend who has hands (lucky her) that needed some TLC. So we headed to the part of town with much swag- Bandra. Bandra has a lot of salons. I assume this is because it’s where the hairy people with lots of beauty issues live. I mean they have more salons per capita than people. I may be exaggerating here a little bit. I did a lot of searching on the internet for good nail salons and Google kept leading me astray by throwing up results of places that do nail art. I just wanted a damn good nail service. Anyhoo, we settled on Saks Hair and Beauty. The Space Saks Hair and Beauty comes from the UK or so they will have …
